The China Tunisia Cooperation Council celebrates its two years of existence. It began with a handful of individuals who believed in this project which is to implement the Mediterranean, African and Arab Tunisia in the Asian sphere and more precisely the Chinese one.

Although the relations between Tunisia and China have always been qualified as friendly, China was winning her battle of development and progress to become no nowadays the world's trade and economic driver, while Tunisia in my opinion didn't seize the opportunity to build a dialogue and a strategic cooperation with this new asian giant.

The CT'CC started as a response to this unfortunate discrepancy that exists between the two countries, notably at the economic and commercial level. Being African and Arab, Tunisia could have hold two financial and economic instruments which marked the last decade of the Chinese policy in terms of foreign investments called Forum China Africa and Forum China Arab World.

Today, in favor of the new Chinese policy called the New Silk Road, it's high time for Tunisia to find her Mediterranean dimension in order to implement herself in this new economic dynamic by establishing a strategic economic and financial partnership. Tunisia is capable to take up this challenge, given to her human ingenuity and her important geographical position which allow her to consider herself as a strategic and inescapable partner for China in the Mediterranean area.

Allow me to seize the opportunity of this first laudable overview to thank all of my friends

who believed and contributed in the accomplishment of this project. My sincere gratitude goes straight to all the executive members of the CTCC, to all the supporters and our overseas offices.

Today, the Chamber of Commerce Tunisia-China lately created on the initiative of the CTCC, gives a significant contribution in the follow-up of the future actions to undertake, under the dynamic of my dearest friend Mr. Tahar Bayahi that I thank for his trust and to whom I wish the best of success in his future attributions.>>>
